HDT Global (HDT), the leading manufacturer of highly-engineered, mission-capable infrastructure solutions across defense, aerospace and government markets, announced today the appointment of Michael J. Silvestro as Senior Vice President and Sector General Manager. In this role, Mr. Silvestro is responsible for leading the company’s Expeditionary Market Sector, which includes new business development, strategy implementation and program performance.

Mr. Silvestro has 25 years of leadership and management service in military, legislative and private sector roles. Most recently, he was President of BOH Environmental LLC, where he was responsible for the corporation’s operational performance across all key business metrics as well as the development and implementation of customer centric, strategic plans.

Mr. Silvestro also worked at BAE Systems in several roles of increasing responsibility. While at BAE, he led a business development team in strategy development, new market identification and the successful growth of a multi-billion dollar services opportunity pipeline centered on professional complex infrastructure network sustainment, operations and maintenance services in support of the nation’s critical missions of ICBM early warning, space situational awareness, plus range instrumentation products and sustainment at both test and launch ranges. Prior to that, Mr. Silvestro served as the primary public policy advocate on Capitol Hill for BAE’s diverse $3 Billion Readiness and Sustainment portfolio after managing government relations for Accenture’s U.S. defense and intelligence group.

For several years, Mr. Silvestro served as the Counsel and Military Advisor for a senior member of the US House of Representatives during his tenure on the House Armed Services Committee as the Chairman of the Terrorism and Unconventional Threats and Capabilities Subcommittee and as the Ranking Member of the Air and Land Forces Subcommittee. Prior to joining the Congressman’s staff, Mr. Silvestro worked at the government relations firm Cassidy & Associates, where he represented a wide range of clients on defense appropriations and federal contracting issues.

A former U.S. Army officer, Mr. Silvestro received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies and Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy. He also holds a JD from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and is a graduate of The Wharton School’s Advanced Management Program. He is a member of the DC Bar.
