HDT Global (HDT), the leading manufacturer of highly-engineered, mission-capable infrastructure solutions across defense, aerospace and government markets, announced today the appointment of John Dotson as Senior Vice President and General Counsel / Secretary.

Most recently, Mr. Dotson was the Managing Counsel, Enterprise Contracts, at Chevron, where he was the general counsel to the Executive Vice President, Technology, Projects & Services, and a member of the leadership team. In this position, Mr. Dotson led and coordinated legal services for Chevron’s enterprise-wide groups including Major Capital Projects, IT, Supply Chain Management, and Technology, leading the legal aspects worldwide of infrastructure projects up to US$45B and Chevron’s transition from on-premises software to the Cloud and Cloud services. He was also Chair of the Investigations Governance Board. Previously, Mr. Dotson was the general counsel for Chevron’s Upstream Gulf of Mexico and Deepwater Exploration & Production units and Chevron Energy Solutions (including Chevron Renewable Power).

At Raytheon, as Vice President, Strategic Transactions Counsel, Mr. Dotson was the chief counsel for transactions, including M&A and joint ventures. He also was Director, Corporate Development, handling M&A and joint ventures from the business side.

Mr. Dotson’s international experience is extensive, covering projects or transactions in over 40 countries. Prior to going in-house, his practice included M&A, securities, private equity, joint ventures, project finance and venture capital in several leading law firms.

Mr. Dotson received an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.
