SOLON, Ohio – May 23, 2013 – HDT Global (HDT), a leading provider of highly-engineered mobile military and emergency response solutions, announced today that its Expeditionary Systems Group division has been awarded the Arctic Shelters contract by the Marine Corps Systems Command to produce its proprietary Arctic Shelter System, the HDT ArctiX shelter.

Part of the HDT Base-X® expeditionary shelter family, the HDT ArctiX shelter is an ultra-lightweight, rapidly deployed shelter that offers U.S. Military and Allied Forces the necessary infrastructure to operate in austere cold weather locations. As with all HDT Base-X shelters, the HDT ArctiX shelter offers inherent energy efficiency features, deploys with no additional tools and requires few personnel for set up. The shelter can accommodate up to 15 Marines and is typically employed in snowy conditions. Also designed and manufactured by HDT Global, the Marine Corps SHC Thermoelectric Heater can be used with the ArctiX shelter, providing military personnel with comprehensive protection from harsh environmental conditions.

“We are thrilled to support the United States Marine Corps through the Arctic Shelter program. The HDT ArctiX shelter is a component of our extensive offering of military shelter system products. This system is part of our company’s legacy and at the foundation of our mission at HDT Global to provide innovative solutions for the U.S. Military and Allied Forces,” said Andy Hove, President, HDT Expeditionary Systems Group.

“The HDT ArctiX shelter system gives the USMC the capability to perform their mission, particularly when facing extremely harsh, cold environments,” added Mike Stolarz, VP USMC/Joint Programs Business Development, HDT Expeditionary Systems Group. “This award extends our decades of support of the USMC with high quality, energy efficient expeditionary shelter systems, and we are proud to continue offering innovative solutions.”
