This survey is for the Convective Arctic Space Heater (CASH). Built to replace the Space Heater Arctic (SHA), the CASH is designed to be the Army’s next man-portable expeditionary shelter heater.
CASH Design and Development
The CASH is built to be lightweight, portable and easy to operate and maintain. It can be used with the Army soft wall arctic shelters and utilizes shelter ducting ports. Heater operation is similar to the very popular Space Heater Convective (4520-01-431-8927). The CASH has a powerful circulating fan and superior temperature control. The circulating fan runs continuously to reduce temperature stratification (hot at the ceiling, cold on the floor) during off-heating cycles.
