Protective Entrances

Protective entrances, or air locks, are required whenever personnel must move back and forth from a pressurized toxic-free area (TFA), such as a medical facility or van, to a contaminated external environment. Proven reliable in demanding field conditions, HDT protective entrances provide a pressurized transitional zone between the shelter interior and the surrounding toxic air.

Units are available in configurations designed for mounting on first response vehicles and permanent and temporary shelters of all sizes. HDT protective entrances also provide a clean air shower to decontaminate (or purge) entering personnel. Operating controls and pressure sensors maintain proper pressurization. Inside the air locks, the user has the ability to remove contaminated clothing and masks. The air locks collapse for storage and safe transportation in and out of the operation zone

HDT protective entrances are available in configurations designed for both permanent and temporary shelters, as well as command and EMT vehicles. Each unit incorporates operating controls and pressure sensors to ensure that fail-safe pressurization is maintained. Clean air from the positive-pressure shelter interior is used for the pressurization source.  Those air locks are usually equipped with a high-flow re-circulating filtration system.
