FFA580-100 Positive Pressure CBRN Filtration System

The FFA580-100 is designed to remove toxic chemical and biological warfare agents in gaseous (vapor) and aerosol (particulate) forms from the airstream, while providing a toxic-free environment to personnel or equipment by creating positive pressure in the toxic-free area (TFA).

  • 600-cfm airflow with manual flow control
  • Medium airflow for mobile field shelters
  • All-weather, stackable, modular design
  • Uses standard M98, 200-cfm filter sets NSN 4240-01-369-6533 (3 per system)
  • Airdrop capable/forklift transportable

HDT's FFA580-100 is a compact, all-weather, portable, positive-pressure CBRN filtration system that can provide up to 600-cfm of clean, safe, breathable air for mobile or permanent shelters. Both stackable and air droppable, it is ideal for mobile command and medical shelters, as well as permanent shelters.

The unit's modular design allows for multiple units to be combined for requirements greater than 600-cfm. The skid base framed construction allows for two units to be readily stacked, limiting the footprint of the system and minimizing footprint while being transported or installed. The FFA580-100 consists of a blower, three M98, 200-cfm gas and particulate filter sets and a filter housing a frame assembly. Its rated airflow of 600-cfm may be adjusted by means of a manual flow control valve located on the blower inlet.

The FFA580-100 was originally designed for the U.S. Air Force KMU-450 Collective Protection System and adapted to the Survivable Collective Protection System (SCPS). In recent years, the system has been adapted as a part of fixed installation egress and ingress air lock system.
