The HDT MA-3D is a mobile, self-contained, ground support Flight Line Air Conditioner (FLAC) that delivers general purpose air conditioning to personnel and aircraft avionics during maintenance for pre-flight periods. The system also provides cooling for shelters, portable hangers and other similar enclosures. This overview highlights the instructions and work scope for our MA-3D Upgrade #1 that increases the engine’s capability to operate in air temperatures up to 140°F (60°C) and for the entire unit to operate up to 130°F (54.4°C). A summary of instructions for Upgrade #2 are also provided, which when completed with Upgrade #1, will increase the capability of the entire unit to operate in air temperatures up to 140°F (60°C).
Upgrade #1: Engine Upgrade To 140°F
- No change to cooling
- Install new cooling package including motor radiator, fan, shroud, guards, piping
and electrical components
Upgrade #1 and #2: Engine and Refrigeration Upgrades
- Whole unit to 140°F (60°C)
