HDT’s 10 kW Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) was developed for use in all military environments where electrical power for tactical equipment or troop support is needed. The APU’s robust design enables operation in extreme environmental conditions from -25°F to 120°F (-31.6°C to 48.9°C) and meets all military requirements for humidity, sand, dust, salt spray, fungus, and altitude. The unit is compact and can be easily installed into a shelter tunnel.

The following protective devices are used on the Auxiliary Power Unit: lighted fault indicator proceeded by automatic shut down for over speed, high coolant temperature, low oil pressure, and overvoltage. The unit is equipped with a “Battle Short” emergency bypass to allow for continuous operation regardless of faults while in battle. Additionally, the unit has a lighted fault indicator for low fuel (day tank), short circuit, and overload.

The 10 kW APU meets MIL-STD-461 Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) limits as well as MIL-STD-2169 High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HAEMP) requirements, and is available in 60 Hz.

Features include:
