SOLON, Ohio – Nov. 14, 2011 – HDT Global (HDT), a leading provider of highly-engineered mobile military and emergency response solutions is proud to unveil the latest addition to the HDT Robotics division – the Protector.

The Protector has the power, endurance and mobility to clear safe walking trails for dismounted infantry at 3 mph. In response to the military’s initiative to reduce the amount troops have to carry, the Protector can also carry up to 1,000 pounds of logistics. The energy efficient robot runs on internal fuel for four days at a time and is a weight and size that if needed, can be lifted over an obstacle. A simple hand controller, that also functions as a weapon fore-grip, operates the Protector from up to 1,300 ft away.

“The Protector is a great match for the mobility of dismounted infantry particularly because of its convenient operation, cargo capacity and fuel efficiency,” said Tom Van Doren, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer of HDT Robotics Inc. “This robot meets the current needs of the military, helping soldiers to do their job more effectively. We are eager and excited to get it in the field.”

A leader in developing the latest military defense technology, HDT Robotics, a division of HDT Global, is focused on creating superior products for superior performance. In addition to the Protector, the division offers a robotic arm, known as the MK-1, which can be mounted to any mobile platform for use by the military and law enforcement units. Many of HDT’s new products leverage this level of efficiency through power management, alternative power resources, and power saving add-on products. As a complete integrated system, these products decrease logistics requirements and ultimately reduce fuel and energy needs.
