SOLON, Ohio – July 10, 2019 – HDT Global (HDT), a leading provider of highly engineered solutions for extreme environments across military, public and private sectors, announced today that it will provide the robotic arm and manipulator to QinetiQ North America (QNA) to support the U.S. Army’s Common Robotic System-Individual (CRS(I)) program.

The CRS(I) robot, back-packable for dismounted forces to enhance mission capabilities, features advanced sensors and mission modules, including the HDT Adroit® arm and manipulator, purposely designed and built for this program. The ultra-lightweight HDT arm provides unparalleled degrees of freedom and strength, while the manipulator, or gripper, provides force feedback.

“HDT robotics has pioneered major advancements in robotic arms and dexterous manipulators that are modular and scalable for many complex U.S. military mission requirements,” stated Dr. Tom Van Doren, Vice President of Blade Works, HDT’s engineering innovation center. “Expanding our robotic arm offering, founded on our ground breaking development of robust robotic actuators over a decade ago, we continue to provide mission critical technology in our HDT Adroit CRS(I) solution, supporting QNA and the U.S. Army.”

“HDT is proud to be a QinetiQ North America partner on the CRS(I) program,” added Vincent Buffa, HDT President and CEO. “Our combined technologies bring much needed ground robotics capability to our warfighters, and the CRS(I) robot is a culmination of years of passion and dedication by both organizations.”
