HDT Global, a leading provider of highly engineered, application-specific solutions for military, civilian, commercial and industrial customers, announced today the appointment of Sean Bond as the new Chief Executive Officer and President. Mr. Bond brings extensive knowledge and leadership experience in US and international defense programs, products and services. He takes the reins from Frederick Strader, former CEO of Textron Systems and current HDT board member, who had served in the role on an interim basis.

Mr. Bond is an accomplished defense industry executive with 23 years of related leadership experience. Before joining HDT, he was CEO and founding partner of BondNation Advisors, a team of senior defense industry executives involved in supporting defense industry mergers and acquisitions. He also served as the President of Platform Solutions for BAE Systems, a global aerospace and defense business. In that role, Mr. Bond was responsible for leading a business providing high-integrity power and control systems for aircraft and ground vehicles across the world. Before joining BAE, he was with Bell Helicopter Textron in Fort Worth, where he was the Program Manager for the V-22 Osprey program, a revolutionary tilt-rotor aircraft for the US military. Previously, he was the Program Manager for the JSF119-614 Joint Strike Fighter Engine Program with Pratt & Whitney Military Engines.

Mr. Bond also served as Chief Executive Officer and President of ISS North America, one of the largest facility services companies across the Americas, with over 34,000 employees.

“{We are grateful to Fred Strader for his steady leadership these past several months and look forward to this next chapter for HDT.} Throughout Sean’s impressive career, he has gained a breadth of industry knowledge and strong executive experience that make him an ideal fit for this role,” said Sam Bartlett, Managing Director at Charlesbank Capital Partners, an investor in HDT Global since 2014. “Sean brings a record of thoughtful, strategic leadership, intense customer focus and collaborative pursuit of operational excellence. We are delighted to have him at the helm.”

“I welcome this new challenge in my career and the chance to leverage my industry experience to further growth at HDT,” said Sean Bond. “HDT has built a wonderful reputation with its customers and partners, and I look forward to working with the existing management team to forge an even stronger future for this fine company.”

Mr. Bond holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland and also studied aerospace at the United States Naval Academy. He has completed executive programs in business management at Oxford University, the Wharton School of Business, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. In 2012, Sean was inducted into the University of Maryland’s Aerospace Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni, and he remains active supporting K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education programs.
