HDT Global is part of the Northrup Grumman team that recently was awarded the U.S. Government contract for the Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robotic System Increment 1 (AEODRS INC1) dismounted operations variant. HDT is the supplier of the manipulator arm that will be used for the robot. HDT will deliver hundreds of manipulator arms under options to this contract.

HDT’s Adroit® family of robotic manipulator arms are modular systems that can be built to customer specifications and offer high load-to-mass ratio, unprecedented dexterity with up to 27 degrees of freedom, light weight and low power consumption. HDT developed a small Adroit arm specifically for the AEODRS INC 1 robot.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with Northrop Grumman and their outstanding team of module suppliers for AEODRS Inc. 1,” said Tom Van Doren, HDT Vice President of Engineering.

HDT’s robotic solutions include actuators, manipulator arms, undersea arms, rugged utility vehicles, and healthcare gait and recovery systems.

Northrop Grumman will procure and integrate the handheld operator control unit, communications link, mobility capability module, master capability module, power capability module, manipulator capability module, end effector capability module, visual sensors capability module, autonomous behaviors capability module and other components that comprise the dismounted operations system.
